We all have many layers to us, but I have always thought of myself as having two very different sides. The classic yin-yang if you will, opposite or contrary forces that are complementary, interconnected, and interdependent, that give rise to each other.
I am the entrepreneur that prefers to advise and grow other entrepreneurs, I am the Type-A MBA on an ongoing pursuit to educate others on and optimize for the human side of the business rather than focus on the monetary profit, I grew up in New York yet my heart was captured by my early summers in West Virginia, as an adult I wanted to live in NYC and Paris, then San Francisco and NYC, the country and the city (at the same time!), in school, I always had 2 sets of friends, the artsy dancers and actors, and the preppie social crowd… the list that makes up a story of “Two Lianas” goes on and on. I appear to be a walking contradiction… or not. I know that all of my “opposites” are really what make me whole, more interesting, more useful, and resilient in this ever-changing world. Think about your opposites within? And what makes you whole.
And on this theme of 2 Lianas, my yin-yang path that brought me to where I am today led me to ANOTHER Liana. Meet Liana Fricker.
Liana also has a very rare name. She is someone who is unique but with whom I share SO much in common. This week, we released the podcast episode “Creating Space” with Liana Fricker. You should listen! Liana founded The Inspiration Space in the UK, for “companies of one” to grow in community and support. What do we have in common? We are both trained dancers, have an English husband, are the mother of 2 boys and LOVE to inspire and support entrepreneurs and all people who are creating and re-inventing themselves. Liana Fricker so eloquently shares her wisdom and insights to help YOU create space for giving rise to your best selves ~ yes, plural, because we all have multiple selves that give rise to one another if we only create the space to do so.
Thanks for joining me here. Share this with a friend and spread these tools to help them flourish.
P.S. You can listen to my conversation with Liana anywhere you prefer to get your podcasts or HERE.
