Dear Friends,
It seems intuitive enough ~ the questions you ask matter. Easier said than done though. Asking ourselves questions⊠canât that just open up a can of worms, or worse, just get me stuck?! I just need to keep going, keep doing⊠But that stance can take us down the wrong path, away from our goals and away from where we can thrive. Most of us feel like we are all powering through these uncertain times facing constant challenges to our goals. White-knuckling our way through life or work is unsustainable. So we have some tips. Today, we are encouraging you to ask yourself the right questions!Â
We believe that everyone has something monumental to offer. Yup, this is where our name comes from. And itâs true. Sharing evidence-based concepts here to help each of you thrive in life and in work is so important. We also pull from our personal experiences and the extensive work we have done around our certifications. Check out our short video to see one example of how we are working to improve your wellbeing, in life and in work, and keep reading for an important challenge.Â
âBy asking yourself the right questions⊠you will change the destination of where your mind will take you.â - MicheleÂ
Letâs get personal. How often have you said the following to yourself:
Whatâs wrong with me?Â
Why is this happening?Â
Why didnât I get that promotion/new job/[you can enter a missed goal here]?Â
Try shifting the questions to more outcome-oriented questions:Â
What happened?Â
Where did it go wrong? What can I do to prevent this in the future? Â
How can I change it? What can I do to improve the situation?Â
Challenge: Think of a time you were stuck in an unwanted situation. Ask yourself the above questions, especially âWhat can I do to improve the situation?â Write it down. Then take some time to answer your own questions. What would an ideal outcome be for you? Writing things down really helps to absorb a new concept and apply it to your life to create a real shift. We suggest that you create a dedicated journal for the tools we are offering you here each week. Combine this with the Gratitude Journal Dr. Quinn tells us about in our Mindshare Podcast (worth a listen today!).
Tell us what you think! We would love to hear from you: Comment here or email us at info@monumentalme.com. And pay this forward. We can all use some evidence-based tips and tricks to help us thrive!
