Spotify has mastered the art of keeping track of every move you make, but make it fun. They have made it a thing to be analyzed and packaged into “a character” through your music streaming behavior. For those of you who aren’t Spotify users, the music and podcast streaming company has just released their genius annual feature Spotify Wrapped. This year, they introduced a new feature called “Me in 2023.” It assigns you one of 12 “listening characters” that best describe your listening habits. For example, if you’re someone who replays the same song over and over again, then you’re a “Time Traveler”; if you tend to indulge in emotional music, um, in the dark maybe or really late at night, then you’re a “Vampire;” and if you create playlists “more than others do,” you’re an “Alchemist.”
I am sharing with you that I am a Vampire. Interesting. I am in bed by 10PM most nights, so it must be Chopin’s Nocturnes I keep playing.
I received some very personal messaging from Spotify, they told me: “You had something special with your top artists,” and I then received a personal video message from Taylor Swift! What?! She is tracking me too. Anyway, since I use a family Spotify account, I am thrilled they have homed in on my specific music listening habits. I feel seen! I have eclectic tastes. I see that I listened to 63 different music genres, but they did manage to filter out all the Rap music my boys play and the 90’s British Alt bands my husband favors. My wrapped summary? I easily transition from Chopin to Taylor Swift to Fleetwood Mac to Ten Fé (so good, check them out!). I listen to music a LOT, music is a key part of my life, but I don’t know what I was doing on March 30th when I was apparently rocking out all day long, or 463 minutes to be exact.
What’s better than receiving my Wrapped? Receiving a personalized email entitled “Your 2023 Wrapped for Podcasters is Here.” For The Mindshare Podcast!
Yes. I am here to tell you that Spotify also has a podcast creator’s Spotify Wrapped. We have 3 big winners in the top-played episodes. The common theme reveals the answer to Who is Me in 2023? It’s Monumental Me. The one who knows where to find key tools and inspiration to really thrive in life. See what I did there? Spotify won’t mind that I borrowed their new character tool.
All 3 top episodes offer real tools for wellbeing through my conversations with 3 different exceptional people who share their passion to thrive, specifically for the Mindshare Podcast and Monumental Me listeners and readers. Check them out, follow, and rate them today.
