⏰ Is time on our side?
Dear Friends,
We all complain about not having enough time. But is that really true? Are we just potentially getting in our own way? Maybe time can be on our side.
We all have an inner cast of characters called the Saboteurs that could be getting in our way. Is it your Avoider like Michele’s or your Restless like Liana’s? Watch the video and see if any of this sounds familiar.
We have a challenge for you.
This week we’re focusing on how we view time and how that impacts us and what we accomplish… or don’t.
Do you think of time as
An enemy we are all racing against?
A roadblock that gets in your way?
Something you want to better manage so you can focus on what really matters to you to get sh*t done?
Try reframing the way you think of time so you use it as your tool to thrive.
Time can help us focus, prioritize, and zero in on those things that truly matter.
Identifying your inner roadblocks based on our internal saboteurs that get in our way and linking that to time can really help.
What do we mean?
We all have an inner cast of characters that can work against us. The Avoider that “makes” Michele mismanage her time if she doesn’t keep that character in check! The Restless devil that creates distractions for Liana, pulling her from one thing to another and then leaving her feeling overwhelmed and inefficient.
We’ll talk more about our internal cast of characters soon, but let’s really think about how time can work for us. How can we be more intentional about how we use the time we have?
Challenge:
Ask yourself: how am I spending my time?
Write down what you spend your time on. Take the time to run the numbers. Don’t forget to capture the social media check-in, that extra episode of Cobra Kai on Netflix, pressing snooze that 3rd time…. (14m+31m+9m=54 minutes you could get back and "better" utilize if you choose to!).
When you find you’re spending more time on things that aren’t as important as a project you want to start or complete, ask yourself why. Your Avoider might know.
Find or create a productivity journal and write down your answers to the above. This makes it much easier to reinforce a better understanding of yourself and integrate new behaviors. Ok… you can also just use a scrap of paper or your iPhone. Or be really radical and SHARE it in the comments section here:
